Sally (Bessette) Messier, 85, of Saratoga Springs, NY, passed away peacefully in the loving care of her family. She has been joyfully reunited with her beloved husband, Wilfred P. Messier Sr.
Born on May 28, 1939, Sally was the cherished daughter of the late Francis Bessette and Sally (Czajka) Bessette. A proud graduate of Shenendehowa High School, Class of 1957, Sally excelled as an A student and was an active member of the Drama Club and Cheerleading team.
Sally dedicated her early years to being a loving homemaker and mother, participating in every aspect of her children's lives. She was the quintessential room mom, a field trip chaperone, and the source of countless baked treats for class parties. Her cooking skills were unmatched, and her legendary spaghetti sauce will be remembered fondly by all who were fortunate enough to enjoy it. Once her youngest children reached high school, Sally embarked on a career, always ensuring her children's needs came first.
Sally and Will shared a love for travel and cruising, with the Caribbean Islands and Hawaii among their favorite destinations. They also cherished camping adventures with their close-knit Knights of Columbus friends. Sally found professional success at Guyson Corporation, where she cultivated lifelong friendships. Her happiest moments were spent traveling to visit family, enjoying happy hour lunches and dinners with friends, and starting and ending each day with her favorite flavored coffee and sweet creamer.
At the heart of her family, Sally remained vibrant and active even into her 80s. She fearlessly traveled across the country, often solo, to visit loved ones, offered midnight airport pickups, and cherished babysitting opportunities. She connected daily with her family through FaceTime and was always there for anyone who needed her unwavering love and support.
Sally's legacy lives on through her four devoted children: Sally Jeanne (Robert), Kelly Ann, Wilfred Paul Jr. (Barbara), and Michael Francis (Kelly). She was the proud grandmother of ten grandchildren: Tara, Ashley, Tiffany, Amanda, Gabrielle, Alexandra, Chad, Abigail, Wilfred III, and Kaci, and the beloved great-grandmother of eight: Megan, Zachary, Isabella, Lily, DJ, Ally May, Ben, and Weston. Sally is also survived by her siblings Beverly Phoenix, Shirley Ryan, Cynthia Cooper, Francis Bessette, and Daniel Bessette, along with many cherished nieces and nephews.
