Peter M. Rosenberg

Peter M. Rosenberg PE, 87, passed away on February 26, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Troy, he was a lifelong resident of Wynantskill. He graduated from Averill Park High School and received his BS at RPI in Chemical Engineering. Peter served in the US Army in the 1960s as a 2nd Lieutenant. He enjoyed a successful career as a Chemical Engineer at Bendix for 30 years. He then worked at the NYS Department of Health for the Wadsworth Center for over 20 years. He was a man of generosity, humor and wisdom. Peter's passion for reading, couponing, learning and staying informed, videography of his family, and gardening as well as his unwavering spirit will forever be remembered.

Peter is survived by his wife of 65 years Shirley, as well as his brothers William (Rebecca Withers), and Charles (Catherine), his sister Rebecca Baxter, his sons Peter L (Karen) and David S (Mary), and his daughter Dana. He also is survived by his granddaughters Danielle (Hunter Sawyer), Lily (Stephen Kevlin), great granddaughter Simone Sawyer, and several nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by his mother, Margaret Mangold and his father, Charles.

A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated for Peter on Thursday March 6th at 10:30am in St. Jude the Apostle Church 43 Brookside Avenue, Wynantskill. Family and friends are invited and may visit with Peter's family prior to the mass from 8:30am-10:30am in the church. Interment will immediately follow the mass in Evergreen Cemetery, Wynantskill.
