James J. Keenan

James J. Keenan passed away suddenly on November 13, 2024. Born in 1957, he was the eldest child of the late William M. Keenan and Edwina Ferra Keenan. Jim grew up on the East Side of Troy, with a short stint as an Army brat in Western Germany. A lifelong Troy resident, he attended Troy City Schools, was active in scouting, worked at his uncle's bowling alley where he also enjoyed the game, and eventually operated his own masonry business. He was a huge music fan of all genres and followed Pittsburgh sports teams.

Jim was the husband of the late Julia Keenan. He is survived by his siblings: Jennifer Lawrence, Linda (Jim) O'Brien, Bill (Wendy Proper) Keenan, Tom (Pam) Keenan, and Michael (Nicole) Keenan. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, as well as uncles and cousins. 

Jim was well-known in his apartment community for his generous neighborly spirit. Arrangements are private, but the family asks that he be remembered by continuing acts of kindness in his memory.
